Download New Xbox 360 Controller Driver For Mac

Recently a friend gave me a wired Xbox 360 controller to use on my PC, I have a desktop HP Compaq elite 8300 sff running Windows 10 home pro, The problem is the controller isn't working like it should, I don't know how or where to check for the controldrivers or where to go to set up the control functions for it, As you guessed I don't know very much about computers and I'm not great at navigating or accessing the places i want to go as far as programs and such, I tried the virtual asst but didn'tget very far with it. I would have thought the wired MS controller would be plug and play,but maybe it needs the same trick as 3rd party XBOX controllers, which are.(may not be necessary.
